Had to slam on the brakes a while ago to avoid someone coming into my lane
almost immediately after, the airbag light began flashing at me
Flashed 4, pause, 6 pause...
so code 46
What I found online was 46 | LH front crash sensor not mounted to vehicle properly | P
It seems to be securely mounted but could something be loose inside making it think it's not mounted? It doesn't flash every time I take it out, sometimes only if I'm beating on the car a bit..
any ideas?

they're are a few connectors for it that could be loose, its just an EOL resistor system... I'd take the battery off for serveral hours and then clean all of the white connectors at the passenger side inner fender under the hood.
did you check veryuseful.com? anyways, if that doesn't do it i'd look around at the junkyards, those sensors will degrade after time from vibration and heat.

Yeah I found that info at veryuseful, but no pinpoint test P was available

I would figure, a pinpoint test would make me nervous if I posted it, due to crazies and their lawyers and such.
so did you figure out what was wrong?
It's alright, I found it posted on the web
Its' too intermittent to find the problem I guess, the connections are all good, the sensor IS mounted fine, the wiring had no issues with continuity.. That's as fas as I got then I buttoned it back up and came back up to school, so I haven't had a chance to work on it yet, and I likely won't til I get back from cali in August
