Some animal is eating away the insulation around the battery. Does anyone know if anyone sells a battery box for our cars?

You should easily enough be able to get an OEM replacement. If you think it is a reoccurring problem and you want to splurge, get a battery relocation kit so your battery is in the trunk. It will also help increase traction because of the change in weight distribution.
