Just quick question. They opened up the Tournament servers, looking for 1-2 more people to fill our team. Cash prize payout for 1st place, 150k.

When I was in college I had several friends lose jobs and drop out of school because of Evercrack and WoW.

Tournament servers is enabling you to create instant level 70 toons, free gear and cash. But all you can do is the 2v2/3v3/5v5 arena matches.
We have 2 3v3 teams running, a 5v5 team and 2v2 team.
One of our 3v3 teams is a goof off team that turned out to do very well last night. Here's a pic.
Other than that we are looking for a few others.

They must not have read the little note while loading:
"Remember, take everything in consideration! (Even World of Warcraft)"
If they dropped out of school and lost a job due to a video game, thats definitely their problem. I maintain a normal life, and play wow on the side. It's more of a social thing, because I'm just playing with friends. When cash is low, and no one wants to go out, hop on wow and sit back and enjoy.
Now the real person who is addicted to it, is Katie. She logs on and she's in her own world then until further notice. That's.... when it gets annoying.

my brother is/was the same way. I think he's moved into other games, but he gets home from class/work at 7, eats, and leaves to his friend's house cause my parents have dial up, and we know how much that sucks. He'll come rolling in at 4 am, to wake up for class or work at 8 am... pretty much every night my dad said. That's probably why he drove his car around for 2 weeks without oil.... was so tired he didn't even notice. He almost failed out of community college one year because of WoW. The kid needs a pretty swift kick in the head.

it's true... I've been talking to my dad about whether he should take his car away or not (since my dad bought it for him). My points are:
1. He's driving around every day on VERY limited sleep - better to take the car away than have to bury your son cause he's a fucking idiot and falls asleep at the wheel
2. It's not like he goes to school hardly anyway
3. My parents teach in the same town he goes to school, so he could ride with them
4. He drove the damn car for 2 weeks with NO oil
5. He was running my dad's truck 2 quarts low of oil all winter when his Mustang was stuck
6. He's on his third year of community college retaking courses from the last two years, and doing WORSE in them than the first time.

basically, you pay an entry fee, and they flag your account. its a 6 week deal. first 2 weeks are practice, 2nd 2 weeks it starts but can make lineup changes (new characters added and removed from team), 3rd 2 weeks, no changes and final 2 weeks.
just go to the World of Warcraft Community Site and check it out. msg me on aim: grut24 if you're interested

i had 4 60s when that was the top level. every summer id play for 3 years - sell my character at the end... the last summer i managed to roll 2. i played when it first came out... before battlegrounds and before the molten core. in fact, UBRS was the hardest dungeon, the arc reaper was one of the best 2H weapons, and the krol blade was hands down the best 1h weapon. the last time i played, the expansion was announced with no date... and i believe that zul gurub was just released... or maybe it was bwl. i forget. i've moved on though - couldnt play anymore because i had internships and girlfriends and raiding is out of the question (which is required to do end level). i moved on to lotro and eve. if you ever play lotro, its superior graphics will cause you to not even be able to look at wow. their detail to small things like flocks of birds that actually randomly fly around and settle in trees, floating pollen, the rising and setting of the sun in 3 hour intervals, sound effects, graphics change as the time of day progreses (flowers, trees, etc change colors) etc. plus lotro's community makes wow look like a middle school classroom (many if not most of lotro's players are 20 years old or more... a lot older than 30 and with families).

I'm with Nate on this one...I think you were better off not posting that story. It just opens doors to a whole slew of comments.

I blew through CAL-O, CAL-I, and CAL-M, and made it into CPL rankings for Counterstrike 1.6 Lately been playing some team fortress 2 and still very little cs. C.S. is like Evercrack to me. WoW just doesn't have that effect. Then again, I played for a professional team, got paid to play, went to tourneys all over. WoW, I just do the tourneys from home at my leisure.
But yea, definitely we'll hit up some C.S. I used to run 2 or 3 servers and I still own my own vent server, if any of you guys want to use it.

I play a bit of WoW...used to play alot. When I was activated and had nothing better to do I would get home from work at about 4 and play till about 10...some saturdays I would play the majority of the day.
Took awhile to break that after the deactivation..just didn't have anything to do. Then I got burnt out for awhile. I was bored of it, and my computer was showing its age. Got it built and got to cranking on my secondary (well pretty much primary now.) Finally got a sound card for the new puter instead of my onboard sound...getting no sound and just haven't felt like messing with it, so I am taking a break again.
Scilla- 60 NE Hunter (Marksmen)
Zuluhead- 47 BE Mage (Fire/Frost hybrid with a couple in Arcane)
Thinking of changing my spec on the mage though..just haven't decided on what I want to do.
