aww crap. if it aint one thing its another (a/c help)

well the ac quit working today. used to be ICE COLD, not it just blows air. is it a new compressor. or somthing im just not doing right. i let it warm up. put it to NORM A/C and set it to the coldest setting. just blows like im in vent. i swear this cars gunna bankrupt me.

Check to see if the A/C pulley engages when you turn the A/C on. If it does it could just need a coolant flush/recharge

ok, back to the shop monday then. it did not engauge. SH*t my mothers mercedes needed one and it cost like 1500. if it is broke im just gunna leave it. i mean its a convertable. just put the top down.

That's what I do....I don't need the AC in mine.

The fox won't have AC either when I'm done...nor heat for that matter. Mustangs generate enough heat through the firewall anyhow.

if i have the thing removed completly, will i gain any HP? i still need heat though as it gets preety cold in the winter.

we have two seasons. 2 months of DAMN cold (like 15-30) and 10 months of 80-120. but heat is absolutly needed here.

At least 15-20 to the front wheels...and I think a couple to the rear wheels.

But yeah, if you remove your AC, that will just be one less accessory your engine needs to spin...so you will pick up a little power, and will save some gas mileage as well, specially since it will never run again.

not to meantion if the whole system is ripped out the wieght reduction. less weight = faster and better gas mileage

The lighter weight would be the only benefit, but honestly I wish previous owner of my 92 hadn't ripped it out when it quit working... It saves 50 lbs tops, losing a beer gut and putting an aluminum driveshaft on would equal that... As for freeing up horsepower... maybe a tenth of a tenth of HP or so? the pulley spins like an idler pulley when you're not physically using the AC and when you punch the gas it disengages also (hence the clutch on the compressor
