I am thinking my next car might be a G35 Infiniti. 6 Cyl car with about the same MPG as my mustang, but with 300 hp and a very sleek and luxurious interior with a GPS. I could get one used, like a 2006 G35 Coupe with GPS and around 25 thousand miles for about 25 grand. It's pretty impressive, and pretty cheap.

the Pontiac G8's are pretty nice. i drove by one at the stealership the other day and it looked mean as hell sitting between two goats and a C6. If i had to finance a car of that type and that price range it would be either a G8 or a TL-S. G8 are supposed to sell like at 35k iirc.

My friend just got done looking at 06-08 G35's and could not find one in good shape for much under 30... overall they are nice cars though just to expensive for the performance you get. They do offer more luxury though to make up for it.

I test drove one - it truly is an amazing car. Its VQ engine is supposed to be one of the best v6s.

I must have something wrong then...lol....the last couple tanks I averaged like 15-16 mpg and thats mixed hw/street...sucks balls. I do shift at around 3k. but i think thats about the average shift point.

yea ive been thinking that too lately, but ive always shifted at 3k cuz it kinda felt like the best point. seems like the engine gets a little boggy when the rpm go to like 1200 after a shift. so shifting at 3k always kept them up to around 2k when it dropped back down after the shift.

I shift by feel as well, i don't rely on the tach.....usually its between 2 and 3k rpm.....stock gauges are usually not that accurate anyway

I checked out the G8's and the CTS's and they are all pretty expensive. G35 prices are dropping now that Infiniti no longer sells them, instead all they have are the G37's. Well, they have G35 Sedans, but I like the coupes more.
I may test drive the G8 and compare it to a GTO though. The LS2 GTO's are pretty nice, performance wise and interior wise.

I get around 14.5 -15 mpg in town with my Bullitt 01 but I have a few mods though. I also get around 22 mpg on highway.

I just read on some MPG website that the average 2002 3.8L Mustang driver gets an average of 16.3 MPG. Yuck.

That's ridiculous. I used to top out around 30 stock and around 32 after I modded it.
