what quarter times do gt's run?

alright so i have a 2002 v6 mustang. haha i know funny right. anyway im looking to see what your cars run stock so i can see where i need to be. this is what i hear most often:
97-98 4.6: auto-mid-high 14's
manual-mid 14's
99-04 4.6: auto-mid-low 14's
manual-low 14's/high 13's
05+ 4.6: auto-low14's/high 13's
manual-mid-high 13's
are these numbers accurate or am i off? if so, by how much? |

i dont think pre 99 4.6s are that fast, nor do i think 99-04 auto gt's are that fast.....at least through what i've seen.

in my stock 95 gt i can run mid to lower 2's  im just jokin. my mustang is SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. while my vette is smokin. i can outrun a shelby GT500.

1994-1995
3.8L Auto: 17.0 - Manual: 16.5
5.0L Auto: 15.6 - Manual: 15.1
1996-1998
3.8L Auto: 16.9 - Manual: 16.4
4.6L Auto: 15.7 - Manual: 15.2
1999-2004 (3.9 same as 3.8 for v6)
3.8L Auto: 15.9 - Manual: 15.4
4.6L Auto: 14.6 - Manual: 14.1
2005-2008
4.0L Auto: 15.6 - Manual: 15.1
4.6L Auto: 13.9 - Manual: 13.5

careful though, we have put the discussion to rest, a pullied terminator will be a bit faster than a stock Z06 in a C5 and yours is about the same overall. Just imagine a GT500 like that hmmm

i think youre a bit off. how do the 95 5.0s run the same as the 2005 4.0s? they have about 10 more hp and a shit load more torque. they should be about the same weight or maybe the 4.0 is a little heavier. and i also dont see how the 98 4.6 is that slow. i mean i can beat them with my 4.10s,posi-trac,tuner,headers, and cat-back, but it isnt by that much. |

the 5.0L in 94-95 had 300ftlbs of tq which is WAY more than the 4.0L. Plus you are forgetting peak hp/tq inst all that matters, its about the curve etc etc. I am only basing what they run on what ive seen over the last 11 years. I dont have as much info on the 05+ so that might be off a bit but not by much. The 94-95 5.0L isnt that heavy, I am not sure but I think they are around 33XXlbs.
the 96-98 GT's are dogs... they are slow and suck. They run shit times stock. They have 225hp and 285tq which is less tq by a decent amount than the 5.0L. The 98s did have 10 more hp that I didnt think about so they are a touch quicker~

The 94-95 gt 5.0 had 285 ft/lbs....they are around 3400 pounds.....but stock my 95 was running around 15 seconds so he is about right.....with bolt ons im down in the mid 14's now.....the 96-98 gt's are dogs and despite having the same torque and even a bit more hp as the 5.0 it's slower. |

Watched an episode of that game show thing they do on the Speed channel last night where you have to guess the quarter mile time for a random car they bring to the track. pretty interesting show. but they had a guy that brought his 05 gt which was completely stock except for a cai and he ran a 13.01

the times I posted are just averages, not 100% fact and no one can run other times~ thats just an average. People do better. There are TONS of conditions and things you have to take into account when at the track... its just an average.
