hey guys, did a cluster swap keeping original circuit board, for some dumb a## reason i pulled the needles of now they dont match what they were, i had quarter tank now i have 3 quarters, temp shows me half, but the car is cold and the speedogoes up when you turn key and stops at 20 miles and rpm same fashion, all help is apeciated, thanks
Personally I would just pull the needles off and put them back where they should be, two spoons can help in getting under the needles and popping them off. Tach is pretty easy to do, speedo can be done with a friend and a GPS on a straight road, temp I do by driving around and waiting for the engine to get up to temp, for fuel I drive the car to a gas station and fill it up simple as that.
fill up the car with gas and put the needle on the full mark like it normally is when the car is 100% full. Let the car warm up 100% and put the temp needle in the middle (or where it normally is under normal operating temps)
for the oil pressure have the car turned on and put it in the middle.
for the battery do the same as the oil pressure
for the speedo get someone to drive by you if pre 99 and stick it on at the right mph, check it at 45-55-65 for accuracy. If 99 up turn the key to on but dont crank hold down the trip button for a few seconds until the gauges flip (or the odometer screen changes cant remember which) and then crank the car and push the odometer button to flip through the options to speedo and rpm and set them while driving.
for the rpm if you dont have this you will have to get a calculator for your car and set rpm at XX mph and check it at like 45-55-65-xx mph to make sure its accurate.
