Forgive my naïveté but, what precisely is a widebody kit? I can't tell if they are actually wider than other kits. Some look wider, others don't, so, is there a definition? I'm looking into getting that nice Hot Wheels wide body kit or one from Tiger Racing. Can't decide.

from my understanding it is wider especially in the wheel areas (so you can tuck more) for instance i had a buddy with a conquest and in 1987 they had a widebody version... you might want to look up pics of that... it might explain it some...

The main difference between a standard body kit and a widebody kit is that the widebody will come with fender flares so the car is about 1.5" wider and the haunches around the wheels are more beastly

Yes I did. It has been there a little while because the damn transport company didn't get it there by the original install date so they had to fit me in later. It will be very beefy (close to but probably still under 400bhp) yet still naturally aspirated when it returns to me. Obviously still waiting on the new dyno numbers. Apparently I was already at 284rwhp with basic intake, exhaust and tune.
I'm really impressed from talking to the guys there and their prices are very competative. I'm pretty sure they even cut the price if they don't have to ship it to you.
