First Annual Mustang Evolution Louisiana Chapter BBQ

BBQ at my house in 2 weeks. Saturday, May 3rd. We'll call it the first annual Mustang Evolution Louisiana Chapter BBQ. Time is pretty much when you get here till you leave.

I'm thinking burgers and dogs for meat, and we will make up some simple things like pasta salad and potato salad...

Anyone that comes is welcome to bring a dish or chips or beverages or something but it is not required. Or, if you are thinking you would like something else besides burgers/dogs cooked, that's cool too. Chime in with what it is and if it's not too extravagant, then we can get it...or you can bring it. Your choice. I'm a yankee, and I realize the normal thing would be a crawfish boil, but I have no clue how to do such a thing...so we'll do a yankee BBQ.

My only suggestion is BYOB. I'll have some here, but you can bring what you like as well.

So, chime in now. I'd like to get a head count for who is planning to come so I can make sure there is enough food. All evolution members are welcome to attend...new, old, friends that could be potential members, doesn't matter. I'll shoot anyone that doesn't know where I live directions once I know who needs them.

So...let's get a head count and mark your calendars.

that would be cool, but 2 weeks aint enough time to plan a trip that far. i also dont think yall would like me showing up in a honkin huge GM suv.

hopefully your next ones are in like alabama, georga, nc, SC, or someware east coastish

Nah, this is just a local thing anyhow...with anyone who wants a road trip welcome to attend as well.

We typically try to do a southeast get together at least once a year. Last year was Joe Wheeler in Huntsville....before that was Jacksonville.

I believe Brent is thinking of another florida area gathering in July which I still need to reply to his TM about.

we are also looking to meet up with some of the east coast folks in Lake George NY in Sept...labor day week to be exact...for a big car show that happens there every year. We are also getting together for the kick start of the hotrod power tour in Little Rock the weekend of June 6th.

I know I'm kind of hitting all around the area you are thinking, but, these are the ones I know of. I'm just trying to jump start the local folks so we can start doing some evo meets maybe once a month here. We are finally starting to grow our baton rouge member list...so I'd like to start doing more local stuff too....get this site growing some.

We'd like to see some of the other regions start doing some local meets too....so I'm trying to lead by example.

that i dont mind, and with that much of a warning i could easily do newyork, or florida. i just cant to a almost 20 hour drive with like 2 weeks notice. with a 11 MPG suv towing a mustang (only if ya wanted to see her) i never travel in anything other than my truck.

Not a problem. We have a couple threads about the little rock and NY get togethers....the LR one is in this forum and the NY one is in the north east forum I believe. Brent hasn't started one about Florida yet as I think he is still in the planning phase.

I already did that once. Last time I flew I got on the plane drunk and it was a 6AM flight lol

A) I work Saturdays
B) Brent has had a bad experience with partying the night before a flight.
