International Mustang Bullitt Owners Club
FORD CONFIRMS 2009 BULLITT PRODUCTION DETAILS WITH IMBOC

Ford has formally confirmed that S197 Mustang Bullitt production will extend into the 2009 model year, but will not go beyond the 7,700 units previously announced. Dan Jarvis, Ford Motor Company, Car Communications & Launch, confirmed the details with IMBOC late Friday.
"We absolutely will honor our original statement about building 7,700 Bullitts. We will not build BULLITT beyond the 7700 announced." Dan stated in email, "We built about 5,600 for the 2008 model year, and the rest will be 2009s."
In addition, Dan provided clarity on other questions that have been raised by the Mustang BULLITT community:
The glass roof and 45th anniversary badging will not be an option for the 2009 Mustang Bullitt
The vehicles will continue to be numbered sequentially, and will not start over with the 09 model
IMBOC will continue to engage with Ford on the 2008 (and 2009) Mustang BULLITT production details. Watch IMBOC.com for additional information.

Wow, that's going to cut the value of the 08's in half considering the 09 will be twice as rare. Ouch...talk about a slap in the face.

There was never any doubt that there would be an 09. Ford said they were building 7700 of them I believe. They built less than 5500 for 08. The rest will be 09's. |

Correct, but I don't think 08 owners have any reason to be mad. They should have know the 08 wouldn't be the last year. Just my .02 though. |

But I will bet you they were told 08 was the only year the entire time they were filling out paperwork.

meh, the bullitt's are what they are, and as such, aren't really ever going to be "worth" much of anything i dont think anyway, regardless of whether it's an '01, '08, or '09....They are nothing more than an advertising gimmick to sell a few more cares as something "more" than just a standard GT...

ford said they wouldnt build any more after 01.. they did... so what makes anyone think they wont build it if they can make money on it lol

All I know is that I have seen one Bullitt on the road and the guy wouldn't even look over at me. Where was his Mustang pride? He had a limited edition so I was expecting a nod or something.

I didn't buy it to make money on it , I bought it because it was exactly what I've always wanted in a mustang. They could make 77000  a year, for all I care. It's simplicity of style and pure muscle is an aquired taste, and I've aquired it  |

i agree. i plan on buying a used bullit not because of its power, but because of what it is. just like id RATHER have a BOSS than a Shelby GT500 because i like the BOSS more, not because of raw power. you can always put power into a car with after market products, but you cant change what you drive. |

This makes me happy....Cause now my 08 Bullit is gonna increase in value...I pretty much have the thing in a vaccum tight case...I'm glad I just customized my garage now...cause my bullit is going to be spending a lot more time there...I'm going to advise other bullit owners to go to AMERICAN GARAGE – Turn Your Garage Into an American Garage and do what I did...Put your bullit on a new checkerboard floor in your garage and just what for the value to jump up |

I think someone missed the memo. The 2009's are going to have the price jump. I'm sure if you leave your 08 there long enough it'll get there, but not for awhile.

If I wanted to make an investment, I'd buy a CD with that kind of money, assuming I had that kind of money laying around. Taking out a loan just to store a car for investment ?
Sorry, I gotta drive it and enjoy it .
However, with my car in it, my garage sure looks dumpy by comparison. I think you've inspired me to do something about that ! Thanks for the link !
