Hello everybody, I thinking of swapping the gears from what im assuming is the factory gears to maybe a 3.45 or so. This car is actually my mothers, and im not doing this with performance in mind, (allthough a welcome side effect) but to improve the cars driveability, and hopefully fuel economy as well.(Right now getting around 20 mpg hwy) Im unsure as to what the current ratio is, but at 70mph in top gear the engine runs right around 1700 rpm. I cant imagine that the V6 is running efficiently at an engine speed this low. I think ideally this thing should be running at 2000 rpm minimum. Is my line of thinking on the right track? I have no experience with V6 cars, and would love to hear everyones opinions or advice. thx.
