check and clean any metallic dust off the magnet inside the distributor with a half dozen Q-Tips. you need to take off the cap remove the rotor button remove the two screws holding the metal cup with the windows cut out of it. remove the metal cup thing, then just keep wiping clean Q-Tips over and around the magnet to remove metal dust from it. I pulled my distributor out but I'm sure you can clean it without pulling it.Hope this helps some one
