I have a 2000 mustang and im looking to get a full sound sytem : speakers, amp, stereo, and subs, but i don't know much about the tech and specifications of soundsytems. What size subs and what kind of amp should i get? Also speakers?
I also heard that because of the wind rush noise in a conv, that it distorts the sound which makes sense, so would i need a little bit stronger everything?
also should i by the subs in a box w/ amp or without?

well.. I love kicker stuff, and it seems to do a good job (as far as subs go).

There are so many answers to this question.
Some considerations what kind of music do you listen too?
Also louder does not always mean better, quality is something you def. want to emphasize on. When looking at power handling on speakers/amps go with RMS wattage which is more accurate. Also make sure to match ohms because it will cause problems.
Kicker is a great brand, others I would recommend would be Alpine, Pioneer (headunits), Infinity, rockford fosgate. There are a few others but these are the ones I would work with everyday.

Im looking at getting 2 10 in. kicker competition subs and a 450w kicker amp and a pioneer 2000 headunit ,4 kicker speakers and 2 boxes. The guy told me i could get it for 812 including tax and installation.
Is this a good price? And i want to get my car painted black, how much should i be looking to pay? and how much would gloss type paint black be?

why a 450 watt amp?? the kicker subs are good for A LOT more power than that. I think 1000 or so last time I checked... at least for the L7, which almost has to be outdated now.

If its the comp series, the ones i looked at they seem to all be fine.
As for price labor alone would be around $300, from what I charged for installs.
