I have a 2000 mustang and im looking to get a full sound sytem : speakers, amp, stereo, and subs, but i don't know much about the tech and specifications of soundsytems. What size subs and what kind of amp should i get? Also speakers?

I also heard that because of the wind rush noise in a conv, that it distorts the sound which makes sense, so would i need a little bit stronger everything?

also should i by the subs in a box w/ amp or without?

well.. I love kicker stuff, and it seems to do a good job (as far as subs go).

There are so many answers to this question.

Some considerations what kind of music do you listen too?
Also louder does not always mean better, quality is something you def. want to emphasize on. When looking at power handling on speakers/amps go with RMS wattage which is more accurate. Also make sure to match ohms because it will cause problems.

Kicker is a great brand, others I would recommend would be Alpine, Pioneer (headunits), Infinity, rockford fosgate. There are a few others but these are the ones I would work with everyday.
