my 96 gt mustang has 127000 miles on it would anything bad happen to my motor if i install some new comp cams and have everything stock except for my cai

Nothing bad should happen assuming you don't contact a piston.. valve springs will probably float, also and should be replaced..

Oh and don't expect too much return if you have even stock exhaust, and non PI heads...

If you're going through the expense and hassle of doing cams.. skip 'em and just go with a set of 99+ GT PI heads... I can about guarantee you'd get a better return off of those than just doing cams on a mostly stock motor..

I would HIGHLY recommend doing a PI swap while you are at it. It REALLY wakes those cars up taking them from the stock 215hp to around 285 (due to higher compression than the 99+ they pick up more hp/tq) and do the cams at the same time.
