To start IMO cats are useless.

Anyway, my SES light came on last night after I washed my car, so I though tit was nothing just some water on a chip or something. But then today I took it to Autozone (jimmy_beaner thanks for the heads up) and thy ran a diagnostic on the car and came up with the error code P0420 which is Catalyst efficiency low in bank 1 which is cylinder 1. So anyway, I am taking it to Ford on Friday and getting it looked at. So my question is, if I ask them can they put on / order high flow cats for me? Or is that unreasonable with them. Because they get paid by Ford for all the work so maybe, just maybe I can get them.

They won't do it I'm sure. They will probably give you some legal excuse as to why. If you need new cats and need to replace your H-pipe, just do it yourself. It isn't very hard to swap an h-pipe...no welding needed. It is bolt in.

the hard part is those damn head bolts where they bolt to the catback... spray some rust penetration on those suckers and let them soak good.

The factory is required to warranty your cats for 80,000 miles. Don't know what your mileage is, but if it's less than that they'll replace them for free at the dealership. Did that on my TA at about 50,000 miles.

But, did you replace yours with after market cats? That's what he is talking about. I don't believe they will do that.

No, probably not. For free, though... I'd deal with factory cats.

So, I had to get a full catalytic assembly done on the car. They ordered the part yesterday and it should be done either later today or on Monday.

I miss my baby.
