I purchased an 04 GT Convertible (bone stock) last year 07 had 15k on it(my first mustang)Gotta tell you I love this car. It's my DD.Living in Toronto I was kind of worried about driving this car in the winter.I thought about getting an old beater for the 4 months of nasty weather but my budget would'nt allow it & I'd have no place to park it yada yada yada.So I bought 4 steel rims & 4 Good Year nordic snow tires.Cost me $900.Best investment I've made for the car, amongst all the other bolt on's I've done.Got hooked up with Steeda,(Steeda.ca)They have a shop here 30 min out of town.Being new to mustangs I realy did'nt know much about mods.So I read alot of forums
(holy shmoly there's alot of them) just to see what I could do to my car to beef it up.I've lear'nt alot thanks to you guys.So far I've put on a CAI, 75mm TB/Plenum combo, catted X pipe, catback exhaust, & a short throw shifter.I also installed a lightbar cause I think it looks real cool with the top down.Steeda did everything for me.They also did in my bank account. But what the hell, they've done a great job I should'nt complain.Overall the bolt on's have made the car a little quicker, with a better thottle responce. The catted X pipe is a magnaflow, the cat back is borla.Man does it sound MEAN.
The T/B is accufab & yes it does whistle for a split second when you hit the peddle. But thats ok you dont realy notice it.I really like the Tri Ax shifter It's
a million times better than the stock one.I got the Steeda CAI,& I'm wondering If I should have got a fenderwell CAI.The Steeda one is semi covered by a piece of sheet metal & 2" of the end of the filter is exsposed to all that hot air under the hood.Is that going to rob me of some power? I'm not
really sure.I'm also thinking about 3:73 gears not to sure if I'm going to do it.Is it worth it for DD? Not to mension I've replaced both wheel bearing & seals in the rear & that cost me an arm & a leg mostly for the labour & the fluids.Maybe I sould have done the gears then (kill 2 birds with 1 stone) Oh well ! such is life. Any ways glad to be part of Mustang Evolution & the Mustang World.

So can any one tell me if a fenderwell CAI is better than a engine bay CAI

Fender wall means you get cool air at all times...whether driving or stop and go traffic.
Under hood CAI kit has to fight the heat stored under the hood. Some have a cover that mostly blocks the filter from the hot air around it, some are just an open filter. The thought is that air taken in through an under hood CAI will be some percent hotter than the fender version therefore costing you some power as cooler air = more power.
That is the basic difference. The power differences are minimal at best. Some swear by fender wall, some swear by straight shot under hood CAI kits. It really boils down to personal preference.
