hey folks, my name's alex. i'm 21 and live in san diego CA. i'm going to be a senior over at San Diego State and hopefully getting my history degree this time next year in the WWII era.
i won't lie and say i've been a mustang fan my entire life. the first mustang i really liked was in the 6th grade when i saw a black cobra and i thought that was the coolest looking car in the world. in 8th grade i started researching and fell in love with the first generation camaros (don't burn me at the stake!) and i absolutely loved the 2002 years. although i thought the mustangs looked niced, i always enjoyed how much power came in the camaros from the factory.
i fell in love with the s197 senior year of high school. the retro look of the mustangs was just pure sex in my eyes. from the time i graduated on, i fell in love with this redfire V6 mustang 5 speed, a San Diego Special 134 of 200. i begged my parents but they wouldn't budge. months passed and back in november 2005, the monday morning after thanksgiving, i woke up to my mom saying "ohh you're still here, the car's not so i thought you left" i ran out in my boxers looking for my car (1997 altima). someone stole it infront of my house. carless, my parents had to let me get a new car. it took me a few months of car searching. i looked at the new altimas, camry's, accords (the v6 version) and all of them were in the same price as the mustang or more. while my mom was in egypt visiting her family for christmas, my dad woke me up on december 26, 2005 to go get the car. this was the best christmas present i ever got. i left the dealership with the EXACT mustang i wanted and all the options i had been looking for. while getting the car ready for me, i told the GM that i didn't like the wheels and tires that he had on the car for display. they were 20 inch chrome rims that just didn't seem to suit the car. he instead gave me the 17 inch wheels and tires off the GT since he had no more stock V6 rims.
from december of 2005 up until around may 2007, i never planned on touching the car or changing it in anyway from the way i got the car. slowly i started changing things starting with tints, then an MRT aeroturbine, then to a C&L CAI and brenspeed tunes.
today, i still have the car in my garage and i drive every where i go. i love making heads turn and the questions i get about the car. sadly, i am trying to sell it because i want the GT before the new body styles come out and while i have a car at a dealership i want. i also want to do this because i know 3 years from now i won't be able to have another mustang due to law school i plan on being in.
but that's me and my baby rebecca in a lengthy nutshell

At least your story has a good ending with trading in the 6 banger for a V8. Seriously, why could you not take the 20" wheels? I'm not a fan of chrome, but damn, you could have sold those for good money and bought the stockers really cheap.

i'm actually ttrying to sell my 6 right now and get the V8. i'll be posting pics of my car and some other things in it later. it's a tought time to sell though lol
and yea i didn't think of taking them and selling them. it was a a huge dealer markup for the wheels and tires and i didn't think i could get that back. besides, at that time i had no idea about these forums.
