I kind of seen this comming with gas jumping up and the public being scared of even worse prices at the pump~ along with a recession and general spending down~ all car companies in the us are having issues selling cars~

The same type of thing happened 30 years ago and all the US manufacturers cut power to get the fuel efficiency where they needed it but build quality went down and imports became popularized. I hope the US auto makers can find a quick and inexpensive quality way to boost fuel economy. C'mon, standard turbo's. Seriously, it is not expensive when mass produced.

in fords usual MO its too little too late. id be afraid to upp the boost on a ford turbo motor, they will probably cheap out on the rotating assembly and use toothpicks for rods, crappy pistons that like to melt, etc.

Ford needs to turn North America into a niche market and focus all its attention overseas where it makes nice profit margins. My idea of Ford America is kinda like the aussie Ford division, where every car is based around performance.
