Tire Shine: Good or Bad ?

Does any one know if tire shine is good or bad for the rubber ? I've heard conflicting opinions. Some say it protects from uv rays ,some say it magnifies uv ray effects.

Meh, my tires don't last long enough to worry about it so it doesn't matter for me. It makes them look good, good enough for me.

I wouldn't think it would hurt the tires. You are conditioning the rubber, therefore probably making them last longer IMO.

I have never once seen a warning on a bottle of tire shine so I'm gonna go with they are perfectly safe.
If by some chance they weren't, at least your tires look sexy when you have a blow out on the highway from the weakened rubber and you die

my issue with it is that it gets all over the car~ i put it on every now and again and go over my tires with meguiars interior detailer~ since i dont generally drive in the rain or wash my car with water it stays on good~

Thanks RedDevil.I could just see it now ,Headline in the news paper "Man in Mustang Dies on HWY,But His Tires Looked Really SEXY" I think I'll do it. As far as getting it all over the car, Meguiars & Turtle wax have a tire shine that comes in a gel form with a with a sponge applicator.
