I had wanted a 73 Mach 1 since I was 12, but was unable to find one for the money I had. At 14, I purchased a 73 Coupe for $1200. I spent 3 years building the car, but came short at the end when I found bent frame rails. I didn't want to deal with frame work, so I parted with the car and purchased a 72 Mach 1 for $1000. The car had been rear ended, and the owner sold the 351C CJ, trans and rear end and parted with the car elsewhere. The owner before me rebuilt the frame and claimed he had done some quarter work, and he had put a 5.0L and c4 trans and an 8 inch rear end in the car. Upon tearing the car apart, I found more work than I wanted, so I sold the car 6 months later and just recently found my newest project.
I purchased a very solid 73 Mustang Mach 1 with a 351C, FMX trans, and a 9inch rear end with lockers. Aside from needing floor pans, the only rust on the car are needle size pin holes in the roof and the bottom of the drivers rear quarter. The car does however need a new Ram Air hood, drivers fender, front bumper, front valance, and it has no windshield or rear glass.
however, I only paid $550 for the car.
I'm attending UTI in the fall, and I'm bringing the car down with me so I can build the car I've wanted for several years.
