Any recommendations for the 87-93 Mustangs in the San Francisco Bay area?
I thought getting things on this car fixed was easy

Alot of these shops are Diamond Certified whatever that is , First Choice? the one that endorses PPG paint and shop must be qualified to use that paint. There are some shops endorsed by Lexus dealerships. I really don't think all of this really means anything. I know that PPG paint has lifetime warranty. I have also seen a few resto shops for old cars but not specifically for the 87 -93 Mustangs.
Don't be fooled by a tidy clean shop with secretaries and nice offices as it seems those are the cookie cutter body shops franchised all under one company name which is now a Red flag to me.

ya, i always either do all the body work and paint myself, or i take my car to queen city here in seattle, they are one of the only body shops on the west coast endorsed by ferrari, lexus, porsche, bugati, bassically any high end car, they are one of the only shops capable of working on. so..it was kinda cool seeing my 1977 vw rabbit next to a $450K ferrari and a $230k porsche lol...

I know one thing I have heard it before go to paint shops that service the more expensive vehicles. It seems that Lexus is a choice alot of body shops like to make claim to or a Lexus dealership. Is this one of the ways on how to pick a body shop? I look at the completed cars if they have any around the time I visit. Neat pretty, fancy hi-tech all of that stuff I see in some of these franchise body shops or one owner that may have 7 shops is a red flag to me hi volume hi production. I went to one of those shops with the nice offices and receptionist It sure doesn't mean that they are going to do your car right. Maybe charge you more to support their large employee staff wages. Get them in fast, get them out fast. I guess you just have to go into a body shop and like interview them like you would be interviewed for employment. Look around shop see how or where they store cars etc. But it seems to me the shops that I have seen that advertise that they do body work on Lexus or for a Lexus dealership is trying to say they great work and is endorsed by Lexus so they can get your car in. What criteria to use in picking a body shop out?

personally i get to know the people that do the work, so i KNOW they will do exactly as i expect with my car and know how i like the job to be done. otherwise just go to a shop that a lot of poeple have had a good experience with and ask them if you can see some of the work they have done and see for yourself if you like how they do things.
