98 GT project questions

Well guys, I've been toying with the idea of doing a 98 Mustang GT project car and and I was wondering if I would be able to purchase a 427 for the Mustang or would I need to build one? I think a Daytona blue 98 GT with white racing stripes and a 427 in it would be awesome. Any advice? What block would I need? Is this a waste of time? I just like the idea of making 500rwhp without having to really squeeze everything out of the motor and the best way to do that is by adding cubic inches, no replacement for displacement. Now, I''''ve never really been a Ford guy (so I know almost nothing about them) but the 98 body style is a design that I think is amazing with the right wheel and tire combo on it. Do you guys know of companies on here that will build custom motors? Oh and what''''s the deal with these V8''''s? Are they OHC or pushrod? Ah, and I read somewhere that increasing stroke is a waste of time on these motors and adding cubes is the only way to go. Any truth to this? Okay, now that I've asked enough questions, I'll wrap it up.

stroking is ok on these motors, but really on worth it on the 2v. the 2v's make a lot of torque as it is. these cars are sohc motors, gt's havent had pushrod motors since 95. the big bore kits go up to a 302 on stock stroke and 324 with a stroker kit on top of that. the 98 motor is a npi motor sotck, and 99+ recieved the pi set up. the npi motors pick up a lot of power with pi parts, and a full swap can gain a lot over the npi. as for the motor swap, it just depends on what all you want done. you will have to change the k-member, trans, driveshaft, etc, but is easily possible.
