What amp??

I just got a new headunit for my car and when we got them installed, the guy took out the factory amps (which I didnt even know was there)! He was saying that there was no output in the left side of the speaker that he had to take it out coz it may cause problems later on!
Now that I got my new unit installed I felt that the factory unit had more bass into it!!! So I'm thinking of buyin a new amp...what amp would you all recommend?? :-?

What are you planning on running off this amp? If you're just planning on running factory speakers or factory size speakers i'd advise getting a 200 to 300 watt amp and run speakers off of that. It all depends on what you want to run. Why did you pay money for a messed up head unit? Just wondering....
