Fucking A!
honestly, its really making me not like my car anymore.
things pissing me off:
-E-Brake handle/button buzzing with Exhaust tone (now drive with my hand resting on it)
-Passenger headrest rattling when driving (no extra hand for this one)
-Passenger seat side bolster now rubs against door panel and makes loud pops when the two rub when i go over bumps
-rattle from rear seat top-back bolster thingy (the foamish plasticey part that goes over the rear seat back) making lots of noise
-Steering Creak (i know the fix to this, just need to do it)
-AC Vent Rattle on High
-Drivers seat belt doesnt return, just flops out when i get out of the car, i usually have to tuck it back into the rear seat area
anyone else having these same issues? anyone else have fixes or tips? used to be once in a while all these "issues" popped up all at once, like the car was having a moody/emo day. now its everyday.

I have a small squeak that happens when I go over bumps from the rear end... but my new shocks, struts and springs will help that. The subframes I had welded in did a great job of making it almost non-existent

Steering squeek is an easy fix, gotta do that to mine too.
As far as the seat belt issue, carry it back to ford, they are required to warranty the safety restraint systems. You can get them to replace it.
The plastic piece over the rear seat....do not overtighten. If nothing else get some double sided tape foam and use that in the areas it's close. I finally got it to stop in my white car.
Same thing with the vents, pull the center bezel out and put a few pieces of double sided foam on the top side of the vents behind the back of the bezel.

So what is the steering creek fix? I'm doing one that I know of next weekend....just wondering if there is another cause of it. The one I am doing is the rack bushings....
The rest...meh, get a better exhaust. Also, remember you own a mustang and not a beemer...if there were no noises, I then I would get worried.

if you could get 22,500 for your car I would consider taking it. I have a door panel rattle and a shifter boot rattle cuz im missing two of the clips that hold it on lol...
other than that not sure i dont have any other rattles and i have a vert
things shaking with the exhaust is the price you pay to have a loud exhaust, that will happen on any car.
the seatbelt thing sucks ass, thankfully mine doesnt do it.

only noise i have is in the front after i installed the qa1 k member.....its like a light clank, i dunno if its the k member or if its just the road noise. you cant hear it with the radio on at any level, you have to turn it all the way down to hear it.
fixed all the other ones, they pissed me off, but its a mustang, so its ok........its expected

You can either get the bushings from ford or buy aluminum bushings from aftermarket. Just jack the car up, take em out, and put the new ones in. Doesn't take any time. Mine is horrible.

Ok, so it is the rack bushings you were talking about. Actually, I am ordering a set tomorrow....
I was just curious if there was another cause that I didn't know about.

yeah im talking about the MM Solid Aluminum Bushings.
the one offer i denied cause the guy that was going to buy it was too young and would wrap it around a tree.
when your first thoughts are "how fast can it go?", i all of a sudden dont want to sell the car to someone like that, knowing full well it will be totaled in a week, if that, and might take someone out with him.
if i do sell it, i want it to be someone like the guy i sold and re-bought it from, someone who wants to use it for what its built for, which is a capable modding platform, but also someone with a good head on their shoulders who is controlled enough not to do stupid shit in it. IMO the 03/04 is one of those entry level cars into a realm of performance that, if you take its abilities for granted and get comfortable, it will probably kill you.

22,500 is a great deal for your car with the miles it has, as of late the price on them is going down pretty quick it seems unless you have super low miles and even then its not like it was 4-5 months ago~ maybe they will rebound but for now... with high miles its around 19-20k for an 03 in good shape.

First, I had to laugh about the beamer comparison. I bought my son returning from Iraq a used M3 and spent the better part of a winter getting rid of one rattle after another.
Second, I think my passenger seat (03 Cobra) might rub the door a little. I thought Ford issued a fix? Does anyone know about this fix and is it just some spacers or washers that I can buy at the local Lowes?

concerning those who own an '05 or '06...when yur going up a hill at a normal speed, 45 i guess, does it start to vibrate a bit and make this weird noise like something in the motor or transmission is rubbing up against the sides of something? i know it's a vague description but it's a hard noise to explain. i would try and record it with my camera so u guys could hear it but i don't think u would be able to over the engine. my dad asked a friend of his with an '06 GT and he said that his vibrated too, so i just thought it was normal. but the noise is what makes me wonder, my dad heard it one day too and asked in his words "what the hell is that??" lol | | |
