So last night I was driving back with my dad from a good night of fishing, (yah, my stang is the fish mobile when we don't use the boat) and we were going down a quiet country county road. I was going about 62 when i saw a deer on the other side of the road. It bolted right for me, so i swerved right to avoid it. (Not braking would have put the deer right in my grille!) The deer apparently slid trying to backpeddle and went right under the car. I felt the slam under the left front and rear wheels. I slid sideways left then right before gaining control of the car. I got out, immediately thinking the car was f**ked. I looked it over and saw no damage at all. I brought it to my mechanic today and it turns out that no damage was done to the body or mechanical systems underneath.
I'm thinking the massive 315 tire in the rear crushed the deer, because it died shortly after the hit.
Let's just say I am one lucky s.o.b. and should have gone and bought a lottery ticket!

Damn. Here's to surviving!
I once had a deer run and try to stop but like skid sideways into my friend's car. Dented the hell out of the passenger doors. Later I couldn't believe I was ok because I had my arm out the window at the time.

This is why I love Vegas. No deer, no problem. Wait, nevermind. I'm always dodging drunk tourists.

Wow, glad everything turned out okay. Scary, it sounded horrible. Glad you're okay.
You too, Nicole! Talk about a freak accident. That was so scary. I HATE deer and they are EVERYWHERE up here. I try to be soooooo careful at night, it just happens so fast and they come out of nowhere.

I dodge deer almost every other night here. I do my best to thin them out during bow season, but can only take so many. Glad my daughter will be joining me this year!
Once I came around a bend on my way to work and found 6 in my way. I dodged 5 and would have missed the last if she hadn't turned and smacked her head off my mirror. I heard her body hit the side of the car and was sure it was screwed. So when I saw the deer trying to get up behind me, I slapped her into reverse and gunned it. It was still thrashing, so I dug out the knife and finished it off. I took it back home and saw the only damage was the mirror. $60 on E-bay and some venison in the freezer! Kinda felt bad for losing my cool, but I was not letting it get away after bashing my car! Funny, thing was I had my 45 that would have been a bit better than the knife (or backing up), but that would have been illegal!

That story brings a tear to my eye . . . I love it. Except I am jealous because I have not had venison in a while

Deer are every where here also. But what you really have to watch out for are the 1200 pound moose and elk. I have had to dodge several of them. I think I have seen more dead moose then deer. Nothing like driving down the road at night and the oncoming cars lights all of a sudden go out.

Ok you win. That would suck. I saw a semi clock an elk once near Flagstaff, AZ. Wasn't pretty for the truck or the elk.

luckily the only animals I've hit have been a rabbit and a turtle a bird hit my windshield once, but that wasn't my fault. the idiot bird tried to fly between my car and a van coming the opposite way and smacked into the bottom of my window. scared the crap out of me!
