I have been looking for a good streetable autocross / road race tire to mount on 17x9 rims. These tires will be on a car that will rarely if ever see snow. After looking at Tire Rack's web page for "Extreme, Max, Ultra High Performance and Ultra High Performance All Season in the above size. I downloaded the customer satisfaction survey results in Excel and came up with the following suprising results in the following ranking. It looks like the Yokohama S drive or the Kumho Ecsta MX are my choice for the money. Anyone have any thoughts?
Yokohama S drive @ $136
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 @ $292
Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval @ $152
Kumho Ecsta MX @ $143
Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season @ $156
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 @ $212
BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD @ $245
BFGoodrich g-force SS A/S @ $136
General Exclaim UHP @ $113
Continential ContiExtremeContact @ $124
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S @ $215
Pirelli PZero Nero M&S @ $170
Kumho Ecsta SPT @ $129
Avon Tech M550 A/S @ $117
BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW @ $177
Sumitomo HTR+ @ $94
Sumitomo HTR Z II @ $96
Fuzion ZRi @ $116
Sumitomo HTR Z @ $88
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS @ $284

Take a look at the BFG G-force sports. I ran them on my V6 and am currently running the same tires on the front of the cobra. I have well over 20k on them and they aren't showing any abnormal wear. Pretty hard driver on tires as well, never had a set last me this long. The good thing is...I have 2 more to go on the front after these wear out.
Need to get another set for Tiff's car, she has 2 of them on the front of her GT right now and she loves them so far.

out of all the ones that have been commenting, have any of you all actually done any autoxing, or road course? I agree the bf goodwrench would be a decent choice, but the fusions are a no go if you autox.

I would recommend falkens as well... had a set for nearly 50k miles on my old cobra, and I drove spirited. They're amazing tires.... i had the 451's, loved every second of them.
Get falkens, they're awesome tires for what you're looking for

The tires that are made to pull double duty for autox and street use typically include the following:
Bridestone RE01R
Kumho Ecsta MX
Falken Azenia rt-615
Toyo R1R
Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD07
Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212
Those are pretty much the typical auto-x/street tires...I personally would lean toward either the Kumho Ecsta MX or the Toyo R1R...The MX is probably the best "deal" as far as quality for a good price with the Falken's in a close 2nd...The Toyo's, the 'Stone's, and the Yoke's are all going to be the most expensive and probably the best IF you are willing to pay the extra money...
