Run as fast as you can from that product it cheap junk Power and cheap are mutually exclusive, you can have one or the other, not both. Those eBay chips are a ripoff, don't get one.

That product does not mess with anything in your computer. It changes the signal being sent to your computer that reports how much air and what temp the air is....it tricks the computer into thinking the air is cooler and denser. Then the computer adds timing. The timing is what is gaining your power.
however, since it is not real data, your computer could be adjusting to a dangerous condition and detonation could occur.
Anything that changes real world information into trickery information is not a good idea. Your computer is pretty sophisticated and needs to know what is really going on so it can properly send fuel and spark timing to the engine.
So, like herb said, run away...far away. |

Is there an economical alternative tune or best for my buck? SCT or Diablo...what should I be looking at spending? How about hypertech anyone heard anything good from them?

1. Would buying a pre owned unit be any cheaper? If I bought pre owned would be any different besides the scratches? I've heard about having someone custom make a tune, would I need to do that? Is it necessary to keep going to a tuning consultant for ever upgrade you make in the later future?
2. How would this compare to facility, cost and gains?

A pre-owned chip/tuner is a good option as long as it is unlocked VMPtuning.com or any good tuner can set you up with 3 can tunes VMP had the best tunes IMO Justin has dyno results for all his tunes Even with VMP can tunes it not a bad idea to get the motor on a dyno

So once purchasing the tuner hardware I would still need electronic files to be programmed to my tuner and transfer to my car, right? I've seen unlocked tuners for about $200 or so. If I were to buy it like that I would still not be able to tune my car until say VMPtuning were to sell three tunes for my car right? Would these three tunes reflect the existing modifications and if I were to modify it more would I need NEW tunes? How much are tunes?

You need the tuner and tunes. Most custom tuners will make tunes for your specific vehicle and mods. Some mods don't require any tune changes, things like UD pulleys, dual exhaust, are irrelevant to the PCM. And other things like gears and tires can be adjusted for right on the tuner.
