Hey Guys. I'm new to the site and this is my first post. I drive a 97 cobra w/ catback xpipe flowmaster done already and im looking to do my next mod. What i have been wondering for a while already is which cold air kit should i go with. Fenderwell setup? fipk? Rai? I really like the fenderwell setup becuase i heard it is the best way to get the "cool air", but havent seen one that isnt made of metal (metal=bad). Any suggestions or opinions you guys might have towards intake setups will be greatly appriciated.
I belive JLT has a kit for your car but I am not 100% sure of that. I know they make them out of carbon fiber for the 03 04 cobra and the GT 500 not sure about your year though.
JLT has a good quality CAI (I have had no issues with mine in two years) the fender mount will modify the MAF reading more than just a stock style~ so its much better to get a tune with it but you wont have to have one (best to check it to make sure your not to lean)

The general thought is that the metal will get real hot due to underhood temps...and will conduct that heat inside the pipe and actually warm the air inside.
Some have stated this heating would be minimal at best due to the velocity of the air...but I can't say whether it would have a large impact on temps or not. I do know they get a lot hotter than a JLT style pipe though.
