Hey guys Im new to both mustangs and the forums. To be honest I was NEVER a FORD guy (mopars) but after test driving this thing I just couldnt get out. Ive had it for a day and put about 250miles on it already :-). However Ive found some minor issues that Im really unsure of. Something (seems like steering to me) in the front left wheel well clicks over bumps. It sounds like two keys being tapped together and while Im used to FWD (89 Daytona Shelby) it seems like it really wants to go to the left, or right, but wont track straight. Its all the detail I can really give. Also, if I go directly from 4th to fifth gear it grinds with the clutch fully disengaged. However, if I play with it in neutral (move it to the 1/2 gate then over to fifth)it usually wont, is this an issue? I bought it with 2.25 true duals, Cobra fiberglass hood, CAI, and I believe GT wheels? Its a 1999 3.8l 5spd w/ 111,000 on the clock.

welcome, it sounds like the alignment is just off, i would get it checked and put back in spec, have them check for any damage if its been hit in the front or anything~
5th gear grind happens as 5th is the weakest gear~ change the fluid and make sure your clutch really is in all the way, if currently the clutch is low to the floor and you have flop in the clutch petal then chances are its not engaged all the way. If its harder to shift when you are higher in the rpms then you need to take up the slack in the clutch petal.

The clutch pedal actually has amazing feel to it, not super stiff but a nice snug push. It sits completely upright. Thanks for the suspension thing though, I was getting concerned yesterday as it sounded like a bolt was about to fall out at times (from it clicking so much at times)

so at 111K mi what should I be looking at tuning up? Obviously oil(what oil to use?), plugs, filters(oil and fuel) cuz the pump seems a bit whiny. Possably plug wires. Anything else I should be looking at maintaining/checking up on?

oil/filter, transmission fluid, rear end fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant complete drain/fill, fuel filter, air filter check, injection cleaner, check belts, check spark plugs/replace/gap/check plug wires-coil packs, check rubber bushings on suspension.
Im sure there are other things and some listed are just there because some dont know who did what to the car~
some things people never change... like brake fluid and power steering... they should be drained/filled every 5 years.
