I'm about to order the mac catback system, but I want more of the gt look without buying a gt bumper. I heard you can have a shop make the small cutouts in your bumper for the exhaust tips to rest under? Does anyone know the approximate cost of this? And would I have to take it to a body shop or could the exhaust shop take care of this when they install the catback? Thanks

i have no idea. i have heard of getting the cutouts and then simply putting on the inserts around them. i'm not sure if the exhaust shop could do it or not. prob. depends on the person you're taking it to. different shops can do different things. i would prob. just ask whoever u were going to take it to and get a price on it. then come back here and see if the others think it's a fair price.

that's what i was thinking, but i figured he could be the judge on that. u can usually tell if someone is competent and skilled enough to do something if u see them work.

Unfortunately, I've seen it done And it wasn't one of those gay aftermarket bumpers you can buy. I'll post pics if i can find them.
Going back to the cutouts, if you're mechanically inclined, you could use a hole saw and make your own. The hole saw will make a nice, clean cut. Use a piece of 4inch PVC and mark the spots with a marker, placing half of the PVC over the edge of the bumper, then cut them out with a hole saw. I would imagine thats how a body shop would do it.

Yah, that's actually the page i was looking for, thanks.
That works pretty well, I'm getting a GT bumper painted and put on but then I'm an OEM-looking freak The other way will save you hundreds of dollars.
