I am a blues & soul man @ heart, stuck in a 60's time warp, yeh I can dig Metallica, don't know Gov't Mule, love anything on an old Stax / Motown label, but groove also to Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Big Bill Bronzie, but got to tell you that I think Nervana are the coolest sound to hit the scene for many a year, shame they ended the way they did. Whatever I have on in the shelby via my shaker 1000 will trust me be @ 1 trillion Dba.( Screw any friend in tow )
Autographed sun visor sounds very cool, may be pushing my luck to get dealer to pay for, they are supplying & fitting Bassani axle back system for me next week @ cost to make up for steering wheel fiasco, so may be a bridge to far to ask. I know you can get a Shelby signed type of label for engine mount & dash, which displays Date of Birth & other info for less money, will try to find web site if you are interested. I have only 400 miles on mine, been traveling ( Plane), giving it a blast this week end, on short trips I'm getting 14.5 to 15.5 mpg

E.P. That dash plaque sounds worth a look. You may be right on sunvisor.
Dealer asked me about it before deal was made. I said if they were buying
it was a good idea. They were'nt about lose sale over that. From the
listing of artists, you might like Mule. Do you like Allman Brothers? Lead
man for Mule, Warren Haynes, plays with them on tours. I get a lot of
live Mule concerts from their web site. Love em!!

E.P.
Just thought I'd let you know, I have some new photos of vert on
all albums. The red mustang, is a picture of day I bought it. Pic
of red, with vert, is day I traded it (3,000 miles). Also have included
some shots of autographed sunvisor. The paperwork, is a authenticity
card from Shelby, on autograph, plus birth certificate of vert.
Ford rep told my salesrep, that the goal of redstripes at end of
season, was 600 total. Some hardtops, some verts, some white
with red, and some black with red. Said they have'nt sorted out
final; breakdown yet. (Ford does'nt have computers?). Anyway it
sounds like not a whole lot of black verts, with redstripes made.
Did you get steering wheel fiasco sorted out yet? if you have paperwork
Ford about it, maybe should hang on to wheel. Someone in
future might like an oddity like that.

Larry:
Viewed your picture album again this a:m, cool stuff from Mr Shelby, would love to do same, considering.
Have to say very taken with your Black/Red Le Mans stripe combo looks fabulous, suprised you have licence plate on front, can't bring myself to drill into mine, neither did I with my previous 06 GT, did get pullled by a local cop with that vehicle because of no front plate, got off with warning, think I will continue to risk it.
My baby should be back from dealer today, complete with new & correct wheel ( Would you believe Ford initially sent incorrect replacement wheel, no red stitching & tried to claim that was correct !), axle back Bassani's will now be on ( Can't wait to hear the growl), Gas cover flap poor paint job will be corrected, & the loose casket around rear light cluster sorted ( Ford have replaced the whole light cluster - much to my suprise only needed cluster removing & seal easing in place !, but not arguing.
Will post pictures next week when scrupulously cleaned & honed to high polish finish. P.S trying to hold on to wheel but delaer says need to send back to Ford, I have not finished negotiating that !

Unfortunately, in this state, must run front plate. Might get one warning
but then would get expensive. No front plate on it now, have new ones
on order. Was stunned when I found out SNAKE was available. Have
about 30 different types of vanity plates, and all were taken except
one. Will put old vanaties on winter car. Have had it since the day they
became available in state. August 1972.

also, decided to leave paint blemishes alone. Was afraid of F---ing it up.
Maybe will add charcter to car. Gas cap cover would'nt be to bad. Just
repaint. yes I believe Ford story on wheel. This is my 9th new Ford since
1984. Most had some kind of issue, but still buying.

Well Larry, we have to by law in MO also carry front plate, ergo I was stopped, but cannot bring myself to desicrate vehicle by putting one on & judging by photo's on- line here, either many take a chance with the law or as was the case when I lived in NC don't need to bother.
Not sure of your point on the snake , are you referring to the Shelby snake & it's pissing you because you would have bought instead of stock GT500, or are you telling me that a plate can be acquired that features the "Cobra" snake ????

No, the SNAKE just refers to the snakes on the fenders & floor mats,
and the fact that they were always refered to as cobras. Cobra was
gone. A Supersnake would be nice, but would have to win the lottery.
My understanding of the law in Maine, is you need 2 plates for car
inspection, if car has front, and rear places available. So it's
not worth the hassle of getting stopped repeatedly, and it might be
when I was sipping on a "Bud".

Larry Got to tell you and any reader interested, just picked my baby up from the dealer
1) New wheel on !!!!!
2) Gas cover paint job - perfect !!
3) Light cluster replaced - Great !!
4) New Basanni axle back mufflers --- AWESOME,INCREDIBLE, an ABSOLUTE BLAST WOWEEE, will try to put sound clip on- line (When I found out how )
Larry don't know whether you are looking for more Grunt, if so got to consider them, and that 4" aperture looks SO cool.
Sorry obviously dumb Brit @ this end are you saying that you can get snakes on fenders ( In England bumpers !- prefer fenders) & floor mats, I don't have them & trying to imagine snakes on fenders ??

E.P The snakes I refer to are Red Cobra snakes on the sides of front
fenders above the red GT500 stripe. In my photo album, in the first,
and last photos they are visible. The cobra snakes on the floor mats,
are the red cobra snakes that came on the front floor mats. Does'nt
your car have snakes on the side of front fenders, and on the front
floor mats? Also front seats have cobra snakes embossed in the leather.
I believe mine a red, as part of the red stripe package, but you
still should have them on yours. And the car cover has a big cobra
snake on it.

E.P. Forgot, also big red cobra snake in grille, and on trunk emblem.
That's where the SNAKE comes from, and mine are in red, for the
redstripe package.

So the saga continues Larry didn't mean to turn this into a correspondence course .
Yes now I understand have cobra's in all the correct body positions, mine are pure metallic look rather than red, can understand that yours would be part of package.
I DO NOT have cobra's on front floor mats, but do have them embossed on both front driver & passenger leather seats. Don't have car cover - did yours come with vehicle ?
Looks like I have more questions for dealer !

yes the red snake floor mats came with it. They are a very good size.
5" high by 3" on baseOne on each front mat. Also included was a set
of blank floor mats, front and rear. Also the car cover with big snake was
included in the trunk. The trunk was solid full, with 2 full sets of floor
mats, car cover, and boot for top, plus shaker 1000 woofers. That
may also been a part of redstripe package. In fact am quite sure they
were. Saving the red snake floormats for a car show or some shit. For
$1600 plus for package, should have got some things. Waiting to see
pics of "WHITESNAKE". Sound package would be good too.

Hey Larry sitting here watching some crap on TV, wife running around scrubbing the house from top to bottom ( Vistors coming for week end), bloody vacuum whizzing around my lazy boy, God I hate that bloody thing, you would think we had the Queen coming, still stops her complaining about the money I have spent on the muffler ok it was @ cost, but she doesn't really get it.
Anyway sounds like you REALLY got a package, man your Shelby does look fabulous, muffler is just thrilling, claimed I will get 12 - 15 BHP extra, that to me is academic although will be gratefully received. Took a guy from the office for a quick razz in the "Whitesnake" ( Great tag - thanks), he was in awe young kid & I was showing off. Have e-mailed dealer about mats he's very responsive you never know I might get another gesture from them !?. OK, had enough of the vacuum can't resist just going for a quick blast, when will this childishness ever end ? but the new Basanni's beckon. By the way have to go for a decent distance run getting 13+ mpg around town it's drinking the stuff . Going to Arkansas next week end to visit friends, 12 hour round trip gonna be expensive but has to be done, taking the crossover would just not be the same.

Your welcome on name, glad to hear you got it rolling. Are these mufflers a
Ford product? Did you find out if it effects the warranty? Would like to do
something like that, but don't wan't to risk warranty. I just put the top down
and, it's louder (HA HA). Glad you like the Blacksnake. is'nt that part
of an old blues tune? Have to research. Making a C.D. of 1980 ZZ Top
show from a DVD of a German show. Have it cranked tomorrow.

Well, finally got the info on redstripe package for 08 gt500 ragtops.
It's 2 excellent color overviews. Have them in my pictures file, but
can't for the life of me, figure out how to upload into my picture album.
It's 2 pages in adobe 7. when I try to load, says invalid file. When I
open individually, can't upload. Info says available in white (HP)
or black (UA) exterior. Requires Black & Red interior (GR).
Includes SVT/SHELBY top & side stripes in bright red
Red exterior badges Fender cobras, grille cobra, gas cap, and
Shelby deck lid. Premium carpeted floor mats, Ebony with Red &
Silver embroided "Cobra Snake". Shelby GT500 Car Cover with
Red Cobra Snake. Premium Interior package (68S) MSRP $1650
Limited run to 600 units. (White & Black total)
So E.P., that's why you did'nt get cobra floor mats & car cover.
Still don't have breakdown yet for how many white or black. If
anybody can tell me (without getting to technical) how to upload
these pictures, be glad to do it. They look great. Are from factory
bulletin.
