you can get a front plate bracket that doesnt drill into your front bumper~ thats the best way to go about it ALWAYS.

Well that's the arrangement I want have been on-line & cannot find, can you give me any source guidance. I have a `local "Mr Plod" who has already stopped me in my GT did not really understand my English got bored with me & decided to let me off . I am sure once he spots me in the Cobra with no front plate will be just desperate. to hit his daily target He sits behind some trees on a 90 degree bend & thinks I don't know, go past him & so far he has not spotted absence of plate .`

it is illegal in Missouri but most cops dont care. You see alot of Camaros and Vettes without front plates so i wouldnt worry about it until he says something about it.

E.P. Still waiting for pics. of "Whitesnake" Should have a couple of new ones
of mine with SNAKE plate on it. Am getting about same mileage buzzing
around town. Just finished another distance cruise, 85.4 miles, burned 3.5
gals. (all I could squeeze in) for 24.1 mpg. Stayed in 6th gear, and never
went over 55mph. My 07 GT auto. could'nt touch that. Just ordered new
perf. package from dealer. Includes cat back system, cold air induction
new chip & Hi Po oil filter???. It's from SVT racing, so evertything will still
stay completely warranted. Also no problem with inspection. You can run
a Harley with f----ing straight pipes, but keep that auto quiet. Now before
i start getting my ass kicked for ordering from dealer, lets say I'm a worse
mechanic, than a computer op. Plus will feel a lot better knowing thay
can't screw me on warrenty. Sent all factory info on 08 red stripe
convs. to Brent, and he was going to post it. have'nt seen it yet.

Well I have tried to post this message twice, but has'nt showed up anywhere,
so will try here. Just got the info from my dealer, on 08 Gt500 convs, with
Red Stripe Apperance Package. The original goal was for 600 cars, to be madein White or Black. Info came from Ford Zone Manager/Select Dealer Region, so I would
say it's right. A total of 2070 GT500 convs. were made, of this total, 241
were Red Stripe Apperance Package cars. 110 were White with red, and
131 were Black with red. Mine is Black. I know a lot of people will say why
are you driving it? Because it's a F---ing blast.

Finally new cat-backs on, also the cold air box, reprogrammed chip,
and Hi-Po oil filter? According to Ford racing, this boosted H.P to 540
and torque to 510. Same figures as KR500, for $30,000 less.
Also a few new Pics of the BLACKSNAKE in album. Now that my
dealer has found out, that 131 of redstripe black ragtops were
made, he's working on finding out what # it is of the 131.
Will update when I find out.

Yes. With that and chip reprogramming, torque comes on a lot
quicker. It's seems to have changed topend band. Before at
120 in 4th, was turning 4,000 rpm, now it takes 4,500. Would
rather have it on lowend .

Another thing, to those, although they have been few, that
complained of supercharger whine being to noisey (buy a
fucking Lexus), don't go this route, becuse when you nail
it hard, you can really hear it sucking air, and blower is
winding up quicker.

Not being a "Manic Mechanic" I really don't know. It was
explained to me, that I would see quite a bit more on the
lower end, and probably some drop off on the high end
power wise. Which is O.K., cause I was'nt about to see
if it would hit 170. I noticed, that where before, a hard
slam into second, would get a big screech of rubber, now
I get the screech, and car want's to jump sideways, and
the blower seems to come on strong sooner.

Yep and only a fool dealership would allow a exotic car to be joy ridden by the public. It is really a catch .22. If you allow test riding in an exotic you lose value as the car becomes a demo model or labeled as used. If you don't allow test driving then you lose prospective buyers.
So it really comes down to how rare the car is and how high the demand is.
For the GT500, most dealerships will not allow test rides. They will let you test drive a GT and if you like that then they will sell you the GT500.
For other exotic cars, well you pretty much have to find someone on the street and have them take you for a ride in their vehicle.
None of the Ferrari Enzo's were test driven. There were only 350 and they were sold before they were even put together (all of them). The Ford GT only had 4300 units made, there was no test mules either.
If you need to "test drive the vehicle you can pay $1000 a day to rent an exotic to see if you like it"
Just remember when it is a high demand rare car, if you won't buy it the other guy in line will.

I guess it would depend on the dealership because the dealership I bought my car from said I could test drive the GT500 if I had 10k to put down as a "deposit". Not to mention the owner let most of the salesmen take it out for a ride.

Zan 186, have to agree with 1234, you obviously have a "bee in your bonnet" on this matter, & appear to be a self professed expert on the availability of upscale cars for demo purposes. Much of what you have stated (again & again) makes reasonable sense, however your comments & reasoning are not infallible, you are not 100% correct all the time , BUT seem to think you are (Somewhat like my wife - she who shall be obeyed !).
A dealers inclination to allow a short demo drive on a short to shorter run production vehicle, will depend on location, economy, health of dealership, what side of bed he got out of that morning , the potential buyers apparent commitment &/or persuasive powers etc, etc. Your hard & fast rules cannot always apply.
Got to go now test driving a Maserati, be back soon.

Hi E.P. Nice message. Made some changes in car since last chat. Have added
cold air intake package from ford racing. Includes cold air 49 state cat backs
(sound great) reprogrammed chip, and Hi Po oil filter? Included some pics.
Now just found out something you may or may not know. Just got off the
phone with a guy named John at Ford Racing 1-800-367-3788 menu 1,
8:30 to 6pm est. For $55 they will send you a new window sticker, and
an authenticity package, that includes all the info you will need on car.
This is available for 07 & 08 GT500 & 500KR's, original owners only.
Here is info on my car
08 GT500 verts made 2070 mine #2043
black verts made 682 mine # 672
Red stripe package
verts total black and
white 241 mine # 236
Black verts with
red stripe package 131 mine # 128
AS you can see, almost got the last one. I viewed the package online
and looks great. Is info well worth having. Have added a few new pics
in album. Where are the pics of the WHITESNAKE? Also changed plates.
