When I purchased my pony it came with true duals with cats and unknown mufflers. This seems to be the cause of its rough high RPM operation. As long as I keep it under 2kRPMs it runs smooth but when placed under a load over 2k it becomes rough as almost as if it were cammed or misfiring. I will be running and X-pipe, other than that Im undecided on everything else. Ive been looking at both BBK Shorty headers and MAC long tubes which will all tie into either cherry bomb EXTREME mufflers or super 44's (flowmaster). Looking to do 2.25 from the headers into the muffler, and 2.5 from the mufflers to a side dump via Rousche stage III BK. Which muffler/header combo do you think would give me the best power and torque through the full RPM range and not sound like crap. Ive only ever heard the 40 series mufflers and I have a CB from my buddies VR6 Golf and it sounded sick.
