Im looking in to buying a 03-04 GT with in the next few months and I am probably going to have some parts ready for when i buy it.
So what is the best CAI/Upper and Lower intake/ Shifter/ Headers and exhaust (not too mosteriously loud) and tuner for these cars/ as well as lowering springs for a drop of about an inch and 1/4?
And what are a good set of heads and cams for down the road?
Thanks for the input guys.

skip the intake junk, save for a blower, in the meantime buy suspension mods

i guess i can somewhat agree with that but it depends on if you want to make your car just a decent 300 or so DD or a weekend 450 hp. but just keep in mind the basics. Yes suspesion is great and is a must. But a great set of headers an x-pipe and a cat back are very common and needed as well. plus a set of underdrive pullys and an upper intake wouldnt hurt as well as some rearend gears and a steeda tri-ax with all that and an intake with a tune you might be able to pull close to 290 but then you might have to get a few more things. you just gotta keep in mind of what you wanna do in the end

I wouldnt do shorty headers~ just do an X pipe and a catback and a CAI/upper intake combo and a tune. Then do MM lca's, H&R race (or other stiff springs), wheels/tires, other such things~

thats alot of money to spend for not alot of gains. n/a the 2v 4.6 doesnt really liven up like other cars with equal mods (IE like a LSx motor takes to boltons). Id do a CAI and Exhaust and call it done, like spec said, work on suspension and other things first. actually only thing CAI did for my GT was make the exhaust tone a little more defined.
Otherwise you will spend almost ~3k on Heads/Cams/Etc and still be at 300whp and still hate life getting beat by literally bolton LS1's and mildly modded turbo4's, when you could have just waited, make the car handle and feel really good and tight, then spend around the same and just slapped on a procharger kit and been at 400whp or thereabouts, and have to worry about less cars.

Day 1: Get car, rip out intake silencer and stock air box. Install CAI (recently they have discovered that the oil from K&Ns are depositing on MAF and even further back. reccomend using a non-oiled filter)
Day 2: Install Flowmasters (call me old-fashioned, love the flowmaster...)
Day 3: lower car using eibach, install steeda bump-steer kit to compensate. beef up struts and shocks, if older car go ahead and replace ball joints.
Day 4: upgrade brakes, especially if you have 11" rotars.
Then have fun from there.

The first order of business would be to make a realistic obtainable goal for the car. Do you want a drag car? do you want to road race? do you want to have a spirited street car that will occassionally see track use? You have to have a plan of action to avoid double spending or spending on mods that will not net you the most gain or help you get to your final goal with the car. Id start with deciding what you want the car to be and when you are finished then go from there. Let us know what you want and we can help you put together a parts list of proven parts to get you there.

well the goal is a nice lively street car that *Might* see the track. There arnt exactly tons of tracks in the NOVA area.
im honestly thinking saving up for a Blower, i dont know wither to go roots or centrifugal. im really torn about both (FYI the car i will buy will have between 20-30k on the motor)
getting a nice exhaust set up, a nice shifter, upper and lower intake, exhaust, and some 3.73s out back.
the questions i have
Roots or Cent?
how much HP will a stock 4.6 take ( i dont want to replace internals)
how much boost should i be looking at with this set up?
the oldest question since forever, procharger or Vortex?
how much hp will a stock clutch put up with?
and if i need to get another clutch, which one?
and at what point will i have to become worried about the 8.8 out back?
and will i be pushing the limits of the stock trans?
thanks for your help guys, im trying to relearn all of which i used to know.

I can tell you this much on any stock motor I would never go more the 7-8psi. Anything above that could cause damage.
