does anyone here run a anderson n-91 cam with comp lifters? if so how much preload do you run? most hyd. rollers i set by turning the pushrod by my finger till i cant spin it, then go 1/4-1/2 a turn. but on this set up it seems they are either getting loose or something else, cause the valve train seems louder than what it should be. we've tried setting em running and not running, and same result. the lifters are brand new comp cams.

lifter preload on hydrolic cams are the same always, no matter what, unless your bleeding it off to act as a solid roller. its probably just that your using alot higher lift on a cam than your used to, it will be a little more noisy, but definetly check that your not seeing bind on your roller rockers, I broke a few studs that way on a 600+ lift cam.

i'm not very familier with the ford stuff. i know how to set hydraulic rollers, this is the first set i've had give me this much prob, so just seein if someone had any suggestions. car runs like a raped ape. no loss of power. rockers just won't seem to stay adjusted.

just turn the radio up a little louder and you will never hear the noise. Sparkplug, with that combo you should check into running a girdle on your rockers and get away from the dollar general rocker arms that you have. That will make a huge difference on your drivetrain stability at higher rpms.I still think you have other issues, posssibly a cam bearing maybe even lobe damage.

what kind of lift and rockers are you running?, whats the rpm limits of this engine?
all the talk of girdles has me interested, why don't you consider a shaft setup.
sounds like a nice combo anyways, be careful going down the 1320

it's a .576 lift, not sure of the brand of rockers, was on the car already, cam is said to pull to 6800, motor has been to 7, oops but normally i shift out around 6500. a shaft set up would be more stable, bout the same as a girdle i think.
