I'm Mike. I'm in school for mechanical engineering (was not aware you needed to be fluent in Chinese and Hindi to do well). I love to swim and play drums but school gets in the way . I like metal (not the kind you do, your kind puts me to sleep).
Right now my daily driver is a 2000 Ranger with the 2.5L version of the beloved Mustang 2.3L lima. I got it to haul drums and get decent mileage, and because I've always liked the 1998-2000 body style.
I've had a 1984 Mustang LX convertible for 9 years now and have nothing to show for it. All I've done is throw parts away because the person who was supposedly helping me build a "nice car" wanted a totally stripped out shell of a vehicle. That's not my idea of nice. So I'm in the midst of scrounging up parts to make it a whole car again. So far I've gotten an 8.8 rear from a junk yard and a 2.3L from a 1991 automatic car. I really need a 5-speed and compete car wiring harness to get rolling with it again. My neighbor has volunteered to help when I need it as he's rebuilt cars and knows how frustrated I am with the "help" I've gotten so far. I just want to get it rolling, get mileage and have it look nice. That's all.
Anyways, I'll be posting up odd questions here and there as I piece the car back together.
-mike

Thanks for the welcome!
No time line. I'm just doing what I can when I can. Getting it running under it's own power will hopefully be done by the end of summer. I don't know what my income will be starting fall semester so how much gets done after that is impossible to tell.
Nice, are you keeping the '81 nose on it? A lot of guys update but I kinda like to see the older ones rolling around. I'm keeping mine '84 looking.

Mines going 4 eye all the way. It will roll as an 81 all day. The only change is going to be a rear wing and a cowl hood.

Yup, we have that.
Yes, she looks like a good project. If you were closer I'd offer up the 460 I have.

Its not cheap but when its done you will be happy.

I'm very familiar with 50resto.com and will be buying more from them in the future. I'll check out the sponsors. Thanks.
