I'm going to buy some new brakes tomorrow. Not sure which to buy though. I've heard good and bad things about ceramic...but i've heard good and bad things about semi-metallic. Which do you guys prefer? I've got a pretty much stock 03gt/Manual. I've also thought about upgrading to slotted or drilled rotors. But i've heard about drilled rotors cracking under pressure and heat. Any help? Thanks in advance.

Ceramics are nice because they put off very little brake dust. But every time ive purchased ceramics my brake pedal feels like wood but that was only 1 brand the house brand ceramics at advance auto. Semi metalics are nice for stopping but the create a bit more break dust depending on the quality of the pad. So either way dont go cheap. You shouldnt have a prob with either.

I personally would go with OEM ford just like what came on it. No need to upgrade pads that much for street duty. If you want an improvment get some cobra calipers and rotors, they are cheap and should help your stopping power by 15%.

I'm thinking about just going to autozone today and getting some decent pads. I've looked at rotors for the past two days and they all claim they have the best ones. So screw it...i'll save a lil money and just get pads for now I guess. Thanks for the advice fella's. SpecV...nice f'in cobra...real nice.

FYI, if you want a good price on rotors, check out ROTORPROS - Home Page. I was able to get all 4 rotors for $180 shipped. You have to request a price from him as they are not listed on his website. I'm sure it has gone up some due to gas prices and shipping....but they are still a lot less than other aftermarket rotors. I've been running them for over a year now with no issues.

be careful what rotors you go with as some brands are cheap and warp in no time~ just keep an eye out for deals that are to good to be true.

That is true. Rotor Pros are Centrix rotors if you want to research them. I've worked them pretty hard on many 120+ mph runs and they have held true. I'll probably replace these with the same ones when it is time, only next time I don't think I will get drilled and slotted....I'm not sure I like the feel of the slots when I'm braking.
