I just got a 95 gt that has a bbk cold air intake and shorty headers with a magniflow x pipe and mufflers. I got a line on an intake(upper and lower) from A 93 cobra and was wondering if it could be swapped to my 95. I hate to ask but this is my first stang and I just wanna make sure it can be done before i get it and what will I need to make it work. I wanna thank any and every one for any help they can offer. Thanks again.

Yes it can be done with the use of an elbow or you can switch over to the fox style tb (this will take a lil more doing) I would recommend running an intake designed for the 94-95.

^ by elbow he means an adaptor for your throttle body~ to intake area. While you are at it you REALLY should do the heads/cam (not just an out of the box e303 cam either...) and you will see great power gains.

im not an expert on the 5.0 engines as some are I just know heads/intake/cam should be done at the same time to save you some install costs. let the 5.0 guys have at it to tell you combo details.

decide what you want to do/make with the car as far as HP and as far as performance and make you a plan from there. Decide what et's you are wanting if you are into drag racing and build your combo from there.I wouldnt suggest sticking the e-cam in unless you are just going to stick with the stock e7 heads. The e-cam is a good replacement but its an antique grind and there are far more superior cams on the market for a comparable price.

Trick flow makes a great top end kit that has upper and lower intakes, timing set, rocker arms, heads, cam, gaskets, and i think even the push rods.....you need to get lifters. All the parts are made to work together and you will see a nice power gain....summit and jegs have the kit so you can take a look at it.....its like 2500 but its a good deal

If you are going with an entire top end kit you may want to consider Anderson also, they have a top end kit that makes awesome power with the trick flow heads and an anderson cam combo.

I was thinking about the e cam. What would be a better cam though? I have a goal of around 300 to 350 hp. But I am in no hurry and have a small budget thats why I was gonna just get the cobra intake and a cam for now. The car is already pretty quick with whats already on it, I just want a little more. Thanks again

the e-cam is ok but there are better cams out there to run.....I've heard bad things about comp cams so I would stay away from them

I would recommend the tfs stage 1 over the e-cam. If all you are going to do is cam and intake then stick the TFS stage 1,cobra intake 65mm Tb,70mm mass air,24lb inj. and a real tune. You need to budget for a tune when you install your cam because there is a good chance you will have idle issues with the car.you can make 300 hp fairly easliy with a well thought out plan and smart buys.GOOD LUCK and if you want I can give you a combo that we are running right now on a car and making in the 300hp range with very good street manners.

Yeah I would like to use a set up that has been tested and works good on the street. I may have some trouble getting a real tune since there are no performance shops up here in alpena MI. Thanks again for all the help.

We can design you a setup to get you what you want and we can build you a tune for it as well. We offer tech support for the tune so you can datalog and we can make changes to the tune to get it spot on.
