My buddy got into a pretty big car accident recently and we went looking for cars. He told me the week before his accident that he was going to give his car to his wife and they'd trade in their 2000 Mustang for something more economical like a Scion or a Mazda 3. So we went around looking for something economical, hitting every dealership to see what they had used.
We made our way to the Dodge dealership and the guy basically told us they had "Stuff" which were mostly cars with horrible gas mileage. Hell they had a Dodge Ram SRT-10 with 11k miles on it and they were trying to sell it for 25 grand. Insane huh?
Anyway we were about to leave when the question came up. "Hey, you guys wanna see the new Challenger?" Without thinking I said "YEAAAAAAAAAH let's go see that." So we walked over and there it was. My fucking god.. Dodge I tip my hat to you, what a beautiful fucking car.
The owner of that car was the guy who fucking OWNS Magic Mountain. He bought the first one they had. Price was 45 grand, but the dealership marked it up another 25. Well, I guess if you own a popular theme park you can pretty much almost buy anything. The seats had Leather suede on them for god sakes. The car is MUCH wider than you can imagine it to be. In the picture you can see my buddy looking in the car and you can also notice the car is a little dirty. It was about to be washed up.
God damn it I really want one now lol

They are only making 6400 of those Special edition Hemi Challengers. R/T versions are coming out as well as V6 versions. I might consider a V6 but my dad is very headstrong about getting a Challenger with anything less than a Hemi.

You can opt for a manual, but surprisingly they are about a thousand dollars more expensive.

I still think they stopped designing the car when it came to the rear.

If anyones getting one, at least wait until they get their heads out of their asses and include a LSD. What's better than peglegging through the gears with a 40,000 sports car...
Oh, I know, having both rear tires hook up!
I think it looks awesome, but realistically, its 10,000 more than the 2010 Camaro (and mustang) will be, and the Camaro already has similar power and 1/4 mile numbers. I figure that ford will get with the program and offer a bit more power and bite in their new GT's as well.

eh, ford doesnt really have to. The GT is priced accordingly. If they give it more power, they will have to raise the price. Nobody wants to pay over 30k for a GT. This is why the Camaro died back in 2002, Chevy offered too much power for the market demands and priced the car out of reach of most that did want it, and the V6 sales sucked when compared to Mustangs. Thats the only thing that keeps the Stang in the game, is the V6 sales.
however iirc the 2011 Stang will have what, like 400hp?
i will agree though, its 2008. how the hell can you not include LSD/Trac-Loc rear end? especially on a 4,000lb land barge with 400hp, that one tire is gonna erupt in a fit of rage. whats it cost nowadays, an extra 15$ per unit? cmon.

Well just to let you know, the Camaro SS is going to be the same (or very close to it) pricing to the GT and has 450 horsepower and runs Low-Mid 13's stock
So who knows, maybe that will get ford to give her a bit more power. If not they're easily the weakest of the Pony cars, which most people don't want to be.
Chevy's V6 also runs a 14.5 and has 300 Horsepower. That I'm not so sure I'm a fan of. It'll either skyrocket their sales, or possibly kill them.

Camarofish. If the name fits, wear some shoes.
As far as low-mid 13s in the new Camaro, doesn't the current 300 hp Mustang GT already run mid 13s stock?

I passed a black challenger on the interstate the other day, and IMHO, the front looks beautiful, and well, the rear still look like crap...The orange ones look a bit better, but the new challengers will still have the same problems the old ones did...they have a high raised ass-end but the rear wheel base isn't wide enough to compensate so it will be completely unstable and handle like crap...

There are a few of them running around Lafayette. You are retarded to pay 50% more than sticker for a CAR!
I think they're pretty ugly, the ass looks huge, and out of the place, the wheels are too big, the manual isn't going to be available for at least another year (from what I've read) and NO LSD IN A SPORTS CAR FTMFLose!

The Challenger is a sweet machine, & a welcome addition to the Detroit, 2 dr, rwd battlefield. I hope it sells well for Chrysler.

Slow as crap...that's the only thing I have to say about them. The owner of the local dealership has one and he quickly turned down any runs with my 03...he did however run a stock WRX and got his ass handed to him...
As I've said before, they designed that front end to look good in the rear view mirror. Who cares about the back, I'll never see it.

I believe the Current GT runs a 13.8? but I might be wrong.
This was its first run too, I'm sure another "professional" run will go faster than that.
The 2010-11 Mustang is going to be the same weight class as the Camaro and Challenger, unfortunately that is where our industry is heading because people need useless crap like navigation systems and sensors on every single inch of the car.
It's funny everyone's trying to extend their mileage per gallon, but are just throwing a ton more weight on their cars.
I agree that personally the Challenger would be my last choice out of the Pony Cars of today. It looks great from the front, but the sideview just looks so damn plain, like they ran out of time and just wrapped a piece of metal around the frame with no expression at all. On top of that, the price is just ridiculous.
