Have just found out that there was a problem with the design in the frame for the 05 Convertibles, that cause them to buckle. Any one else having a problem?
Only way to fix is supposedly replacing complete frame for $2500.00

i think its bs about replacing the frame, they have a few companies making killer subframe connectors for those cars, i think granatelli is one of them, look into adding them if you are worried about it.i havent heard anything about this either, are you sure they didnt mean in a collision?

Not sure what caused it, but there is a TSB out on it The Side Rail LInkage is broken on the drivers side, when I took it to Ford, their only solution is a complete frame replacement at about $2500.00 I have found a private owned shop that says the part can be welded, and will be having him do the repair in the next few weeks. The TSB number is 07-17-8 My understanding from several shops that I have checked with, Ford knew about the problem, but will not stand behind it and do a recall. Hope this helps

Thank you will check into that. I have a shop that says welding will correct the problem, but it means taking everything apart and being without the car for about 2 weeks. That is what is killing me the most.
