I just left my office and I go out to get in my car and I notice a sparkle on the windshield Well low and behold I have a damn crack in my windshield. Damn thing is not even a year old. The crack is coming out from behind the lower seal and gets to just about the wipers and takes a right hand turn and goes to the passanger side pillar. Well I just called Safelite and they are sending out a mobile unit to put in another one. Damn sure am glad Iput off having my windows tinted

My windshield is cracked too. I washed my car on a nice warm day... as soon as the water hit the tiny chip beneath my rubber windshield border, the crack shot like a bat out of hell. It took a right turn and underneath my rear view mirror. It started to turn down but it hit another small chip, and now on it's way back up. At least it's not in my field of view

Here In SC state law says Insurances pay 100% of the cost of a new windshield so I am waiting for the installer right now

LOL... in California... the only way you're gonna get a new windshield, is if you pay for it.

Windshields are a pain. I work on them for my uncle when I'm home because he owns a windshield business. I'm glad I have connections with them, otherwise I'd go broke. Luckily I've never had to have one of my vehicles get a new windshield but we've been through 4 in my dad's 97 ranger. As far as insurance goes...a v6 stang is a "sports car" in MS, so screw you all.

Yep...tag for my 02 I just renewed was 325 if I remember right. I just wrote the check, muttered a few choice words, and left. I guess they have to kill us somehow, here in MS they do it off of tag taxes.

corey. it wouldnt have mattered getting your windows tinted or not. its against the law to tint the windshield. and since thats the one that is cracked, it wouldnt have mattered.
although it sucks when you do get your windows tinted, and that night someone smashes in your windshield and the driver side window for the hell of it. i had to pay $20 to get the drivers window re-tinted when i got new windows. oh, and insurance paid for it minus my $100 deductable.
as for insurance, i spend like $800ish every six months.
