low fuel

does anyone know how much gas is in the tank when the low fuel light comes on and about how many miles can you drive with that amount. It's a stupid question,but I'm just wondering.

i had almost no gas the other day and i was forced to fill up and some mom-and-pop place and the gas had lots of water in it i have been letting my car run (sort of run) in the driveway trying to empty out all the gas
