Saw and heard a new challenger yesterday and I have to say it looked pretty sweet and had a very nice rumble to it. Oh, I thought this quote from that link was pretty fuckin hilarious, "If you want a high-strung, nine-testicled pet, get a GT500; if you want a chilled-out muscle car you can drive everyday, put your name on the Challenger waiting list."

And that is why I like supercharged Mustangs . . they "behave as a crack smoking monkey" and who doesn't love that raw feel

See, I didn't get that raw feel from the GT500 that I drove. It felt more like the cruiser you can drive every day to me.
Then again, I went from my car which has no gentle manners at all to that one...so who knows.

I want to say it was his that I drove. This was from Cody's shop to get Canes and back. It was a red/white one and I'm pretty sure it was his when it was just a CAI and a tune.

Um, yeah, well, he was there and told me to take it to canes to get food for Cody...so yeah, he knows already if it was his. I have a pic of my car parked next to his...his looked like a bloated hippo compared to mine.

Maybe the hemi freaks, ought to resd the Motor Trend test of the 2 cars.
GT beat hemi in 1/4 by a full second, had higher 1/4 speed. Better
acceleration in all gears, got better gas mileage, had a lower gas
guzzler tax, and was'nt a f---ing automatic. Another article had mention
that if you wanted a challenger, should'nt have a problem, as only 4,000
of 6,000 to be built had been spoken for. And no dealer markup. I
offered to take on a friend of mine, who bought new challenger, (after
I took him for a ride), and he declined. If your worried about wind
noise, buy a mercedes.

I love the "pony car wars."
I can't hardly wait until GM gets into the act with their new Camaro.

The new challenger is gayyy , its wayyy underpowered and it looks like old muscle car , with 20inch detroit edition rims. It just looks akward, the gt500 gets better gas milage and faster in every way. The only down side to the gt500 is the solid rear axlee but o well..
Shelby Gt500 > Challenger.

It would be my choice as well....as a trade in vehicle towards the challenger.

Seeing all these 4 and 5 hundred horsepower cars running 13s just about makes me sick.
Whatever happened to the days when you could get a 225 HP Mustang to break into the high 13s? And the only way it was near two tons is if you had two dead hookers the size of Rosie O'Donnell in the hatch and a spare T5 laying in the back seat?

good ole safety regulations and standards... the balloon up everything. Also adding on features and extra shit just pumps em on up there... no more riding around in metal tins with v8s.

I would like to drive a challenger to see what they're like, but I wouldn't get an automatic....bad call on only bringing autos for the first year or so.

rob..rocky would never let anybody drive his car so that must not have been his, he is selling it because he just bought a srt8 challenger
challenger weighs 300lbs less than the gt500
rockys went 12.02 with just a tune in a near 2ton car on street tires, some terminator owners would love to see that
both cars are pony cars because in the 60s they were coined this because of the non-bigblock equipped feature
since when was a solid axle a bad thing?? let me know so i can tell all of the top NHRA compettitors, all of the cobra owners are going SRA for a reason

Not all of them are going SRA. And SRA is old technology. The reason people go SRA is because they only care about going straight. That's it. When you look at cars that are meant to do more turning than a u-turn up the return road at the track, they are IRS cars.
The reason cobra owners are going SRA is because ford made the IRS fit instead of designing the IRS to fit. Some of the angles are not good combined with the garbage bushings they used to save a penny all add up to no fun. They had one ready for the GT500 that they designed for the car, but the bean counters said no and just cheesed out with the solid rear.
Also, there are many IRS cars in the low low 10s and even some in the 9s right now...all with sub 1.6 60 times and some in the 1.4 range. There are even many in the low 10 range on the stock half shafts...because once you get rid of the hop and the flex that ford gave us, the stock shafts hold up great.
The IRS is no where near as bad as the internet koolaid drinkers like to make it out to be.

That's because pro street just wants to go straight, like I just said above. You also find many pro street cars with full spools instead of limited slips...because all they care about is going straight, but we all know full spools on the street are not a good idea.

Personally Im all for the IRS. Ford needs to wake up and smell the roses of the future.
What they should do is atleast give you a dealer option.
