I've posted on another forum but there's just too much traffic for it to get noticed. I'm looking to have a small online business of selling airbrushes, supplies, and a couple magazines, and some of my own art services.
Anyways I really want the name to be Roca Arts. Roca is the first two letters of mine and my wife's name.
Do you think it's too close to the gangsta clothing line Roca Wear? I haven't tried to register the name yet because I don't want to get into legal trouble.
What do you guys/gals think?

I would say, stay away from the name due to how similiar it is.

id just stick to one of your last names if it applies. i think if and when you register your business, it will make it a lot easier (less paperwork and less potential legal problems). otherwise, i believe you have to register the business and announce it in a public paper.

Yea I've been searching through google and just come up with junk. I'm probably not patient enough. do you know any links off hand for registered business names?

If you register it as an INC. your state checks the name and then approves it (if not taken). If you register it as an LLC they don't check and you can name it what you want. As for a link for a list of businesses and their names, I'd probably ask your local business authorities for a list or online location.
My father and buddy of his just started a business about 7 years ago, so i just asked him for ya.

Hey thanks for checking. I'm not exactly sure what category I go under. I'm getting a home occupancy business license since it will all be done out of the house

I'm about 20 min. away from the Lucas ranch. I'll just drive up there and tell him how it is. lol...And then go visit Jay Z and say I'm having the name and there's nothing he can do about it.
emailed the people at Rocawear so we'll see what they say. Everything is waiting on the damn name....grrrrrrrr
