Saleen S281 Wing Question

Hey everyone,

I was looking arround at spoilers since I have some spare cash, and I had a question about the S281 wing (which I'd really like to get). Does the wing mount to the top of the trunk lid only, or does it mount to the front of the trunk also. The reason I ask is that the wing hangs over the trunk, so I wasn't sure if it's actually mounted to the front as well, or if it is just mounted through the top like the stock wing.

Also, since I already have four holes drilled for my current wing, I'm going to have to fill them because I highly doubt the S281 will have the same exact drill points. Does anyone have any photos of the top of an S281 so that way I can see how much of the trunk lid it covers. If it covers the holes left by my old spoiler, then I should just have to fill the holes, and not worry about repainting the whole trunk lid.

The S281 had stock hole mounts. For my year it bolts on and some shops will use 3M tape also.

3m tape huh? Maybe I should just bondo it on :-P

The Saleen Door fillets (when I get my kit) will have to be 3M taped on.

the S281 comes in pre 00 and 01 up bolt patterns they also have a new style that is 3 peice it has little parts that comes down on the sides by the tail lamps (ugly) They are secured by two holes.... not all of the hole sonly the back two.... but i screwed some screws in the front two to hold it on, they cover up any markings of the old spoiler (99up) cost 240 do your door with all wiring you need, remove your 3rd brake light and run the wires in there, a little splicing and removal of your trunk light are needed (99 up) it wraps around the back adn coverse all the way to the little indent on the trunk (has a new hole for the trunk lock) (99up) i love mine.

Wow, so this is a bit more advanced body work then what I thought. The spoiler on my car now isn't using the same holes as the factory wing. In fact, my car never came with a spoiler, so we just drilled holes in to fit the spoiler.

Do you by any chance have any close up shots from the rear and from the top of the trunk - or could you possibly take some? It would me soo much to me if you could help me out with that. Thanks a lot

you cant really see it but the spoiler coms down on the back side all the way to the bottom of that panel that the trunk key hole is above. then it goes all the way acorss this, no big deal you simply need to put some double sided tape under that back edge and stick her down on thats what i did adn still holding great after nearly a year.

ty, its being painted... well the rear quarter and rear bumper due to my girlfriends sister i got owned by a honda accord but its comming back monday with custom color matched door and gauge panel cover.
