I just picked up a used '07 GT 'vert with 12K miles & auto. transmission-all stock car.
Notice at 35mph (1200-1300 rpm) a resonating that when either below that speed or above is not present.
Anyone else experience something similar? If so, what may be the cause & solution other than not driving at that speed & rpm range?
Will be taking it in to a local dealer for a couple things to get looked at-check for the TSB's on the convertible top wear and cables(don't hear any rattles at the front of the top, at least not yet.)
Anyone else notice or hear some "creaking" or light clunking noise from the rear of the vehicle-mainly noticed when going in and out of driveways.

the issue at 35mph might be the tires out of balance~ if it goes away after a certian range of mph it could be this.
Ive not heard anything on the tops and wear
creaking is the rear solid axle twisting, there are rubber bushings in there and it moves side to side~ you can lube them up but its not going to get much better.

The vibration/resonation is noticeable even when stopped and you increase/decrease the engine rpm through the 1200-1300 range so it wouldn't be tire-related.
The technical service bulletin for the top wear is # 06-22-16 and may affect convertible's built prior to 12/2006. (I'll see if I can post the actual tsb.)

the 05&^ cars have a panhard bar, they arent like the 04 gts, the axle cant move side to side, and i havent heard of the bushings making noise, could be something else.

The resonating is caused by the exhaust pipe hangers located on the cross member under the transmission. They are there to hold up the pipes during engine installation at the factory and serve no other purpose (except to create vibration). There's a TSB on this. It says to cut off the hangers and bend the rod on the pipe upward. I just cut off the hangers myself with a hacksaw and left the rods where they were. No resonating/vibration since.

Thanks Illini4. I should have followed up on this in that I had the local dealer check it out and they performed the TSB 08-3-4 on my car and that problem is GONE!

Dang, I will have to check mine for that. I just write off the resonation to the Pypes Violator Axle-back.

On my 07, the hangers are in the rubber insulators that are attached to the trans crossmember.

The rubber insulators are inside the hangers I'm referring to. Cut through the hangers, then remove them from the cross member (they are attached with tabs sticking in slots) and the rubber pieces. The rods on the pipes can be left where they are.

And on the seventh day, God rested because he had a sawzall as opposed to a hacksaw . . . and it was good
