Ford Service Manual Question

I downloaded the FSM from ranger1.com about a week before they took down the site. I sort of remembered the installation instructions. It said that it needed to be burned on a CD. Well finally got a burner and burned the program. The program opens but when i select a topic to view i says to insert the CD even though it is already in. Has anyone else had this problem? If you have it and don't have problems did i do something wrong?

what type of file is it?

you have to name the title the CD the same as the file. It doesnt know that the CD is acutally in there if its not looking for that Label.

The Zip file that you have downloaded might be "fordcd.zip"

If its named that. When you make a new cd you have a choice to "label" a cd. Not label like put a sticker on the outside, but give it a name. So when you go into say My Computer, it will say a title under the cd rom drive.

So "label" the cd whatever the file name is and it will install.

Thanks Charles, the only problem is whatever i named it when i downloaded it mustn't be what the program wants....so if anyone has this and installed it corectly i would appriciate know what the correct name is. Thanks in advance.
