I have a feeling there will be some openings here soon in corporate where I work...they tried to update the main system saturday and crashed everything. Now they're saying everything entered saturday including payments are gone and it won't be back up till tomorrow morning. This is fun.

Nice, we just had that here at the Dept of Ed as well...the SAN storage system just crapped out this morning...all data entered since last night is gone.

one of my college teachers worked for a gov contract as the head database guy, they used a tape backup system, but didnt figure out until 6 years later that the backup didnt backup anything ... but they never lost any data... they had TONS of things that would have been lost... the gov made them use an outside source for backing up their dataz... and thus thats what took place.

Well...it's still down...last night came and gone. More emails this morning talking about 4pm today. We can't schedule any additional services or start any new services. Can't complete any services, can't apply any money, can't do crap right now. This is fun.

Apparently the mainframe had a major hardware failure. They got it up this morning but it has been on the verge of crashing all day due to the load...
Stopped all printing in all branches, no communications with the trucks, and it's still slow as mollassas. Takes about 15 minutes to schedule a service, normally takes about 30 seconds. And I can't run the reports I need to keep stuff going...this is fun.
