What's the difference? Sorry if this is an obvious question. I have a 2000, and I want to see which auto tranny I have.

its the same thing, but slightly different.

the AODE is the tranny code for the Electronic Automatic Over Drive tranny. it replaced the AOD in the mid 90s. the 4R70W is an AODE but it has slightly wider gear ratios. you technically have a 4R70W in your car, but if you buy anything to go in your tranny, anything for an AODE will fit

this may be true, but I would try as hard as you can to get 4R70W specific parts.

When I ordered my shift kit, there was an AOD-E and 4r70W part #'s I believe. It may be the same but why chance them ahving moved some fluid passage around?

either one will fit. getting the one for the 4R70W is wiser, but both fit.
